Marketing and Communications Manager, Tourism grading council of South Africa, a Unit of South African Tourism
Thekiso Rakolojane is the Marketing and Communications Manager of the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA), a business unit of South African Tourism.Thekiso who is currently enrolled in an executive management programme with Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), also holds a certificate programme in Strategic Marketing from the institution. He has a National Diploma in Public Relations from the University of Johannesburg, and over 17 years’ experience in the fields of marketing and communications from various sectors in the public and private sectors. He has been with the TGCSA for 7 years, and during his tenure has overseen the implementation of various strategic projects on behalf of South African Tourism such as; the development of quality standards for the South African Hospitality Industry, as well as training the African Travel and Trade industry on the importance of abiding by the global quality assurance standards.Thekiso also leads the review of the grading criteria and minimum requirements which seek, on a triennial basis, to assess the relevance of the grading criteria against global trends and standards.Prior to joining South African Tourism’s Grading Council, Thekiso served as a Media Relations Manager at Standard Bank, looking after its business and personal banking portfolios.
