Gillian Holl is a mother and wife, and the founder and principal of Veld Architects, an award-winning architecture studio based in Johannesburg. Gillian is known for creating bold, functional forms and focused details and she is passionate about sustainable architecture that considers the environment, especially regenerative design. Veld Architects received an award for “Best Architecture Single Residence South Africa” at the 2021 International Property Awards. They were shortlisted for the Glasshouse Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2020, and Gillian was a finalist in the Women in Construction Awards Africa 2017. Projects have received awards and commendations from the Pretoria Institute of Architects, and many have appeared in local and international publications including, digest of South African Architecture, VISI, House and Leisure and Traumhaus.
