Hugo Vermeulen, 53 years old. Born, raised and still living in the Netherlands.

I am a positive and result-oriented manager and I have decided 2 years ago to commit my time and energy towards a sustainable world. As a Hot Water Specialist at Solarus I am part of an innovative project, where I am responsible for linking Solarus to businesses who are willing to make a change. With the hybrid solutions we are able to provide 100% sustainable heat, hot water and electricity from the sun.

My experience is not related to the renewable energy industry. I have been part of the fresh produce industry for 25 years and was responsible for building up relationships with suppliers and clients globally. During these years I have also travelled to South Africa numerous times and I have learned a lot about this beautiful country, but also came to understand the challenges businesses are facing each and every day.

We are looking forward to bringing our unique solution to South Africa and to the hospitality industry in particular.
