Amy Elliot is a young woman in hospitality you need to know
The African Pride Hotel’s new manager Amy Elliot is an ambitious businesswoman on our radar – she is set on making your stay at the revamped hotel an “experience like nothing else.”
Elliot has been in the industry since graduating from the University of Johannesburg with flying colours a decade ago.
She has worked in Miami in the US – while still honing her operational skills – returned to Johannesburg as the general manager of a popular wedding venue.
She moved on to join a hospitality group with a more corporate focus, which is where she decided to further her studies.
She says,”I’ve just completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management and currently enrolled as an MBA student. I will complete the MBA by the end of 2023. It is a long way to go, but it will be worth it.”
Despite her illustrious career in the hospitality industry, Elliot says her position as the new manager at the African Pride Hotel is her most exciting one yet.
She adds that her expertise and intellect are shining through as this is her playground for more exciting things.
“A five-star environment is where I shine, and the team and I plan to create memorable experiences for all our guests who walk through these doors. Our motto as an Autograph Collection hotel is to create an experience exactly like nothing else.
“It has been a great first month of operation, with occupancies exceeding forecast and a decent stream of feet through the door,” said Elliot.
The modern luxury Hotel is in Johannesburg’s affluent suburb of Melrose, and features unique architecture and sophisticated design.
It’s a centrally-located city hotel and is ideal for the discerning urban traveller who enjoys chic accommodation, be it for leisure or business.
The Melrose Arch area is set up as a gated community providing each of its residents and visitors with absolute safety and security.
