Hotel school opens new campus in Gqeberha
“We are thrilled to bring an internationally-acclaimed and accredited tertiary institution to this region,” says John Creighton, the school’s director. “As the only institution in Africa rated in the Top 50 hospitality schools internationally, this is great news for the Eastern Cape.”
The school is, however, doing more than advancing its footprint, it also extended its investment in the local community through a bursary competition that aired on Algoa FM late last month.
Listeners were given the opportunity to enter and as a result, 10 local, aspiring chefs were each awarded a R30,000 bursary with which to start their culinary journey at IHS in March this year. The winners were also given the opportunity to secure further funding towards their fees by participating in a hotly contested cook-off this past Saturday.
