RADISSON IN MADAGASCAR
Radisson continues to expand its presence in Africa with the announcement of three new hotels under its Radisson and Radisson Blu brands.
The properties are in Madagascar, which heralds the group’s arrival into its 32nd market in Africa.
The three new properties under Radisson’s umbrella are the result of a deal which will increase the group’s current hotel count in Africa of 89, both operational and in the pipeline, and go towards their longer-term expansion goals of operating 130 hotels on the continent by 2022.
The three-hotel deal consists of two rebrands of existing hotels and one new build, scheduled to open in 2020.
Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer, Radisson Hotel Group, stated, “We continue to lead the African pipeline in the upper-upscale segment. This three-deal signing further cements our position and reflects our commitment to the continent.”
“Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world and has a critical role to play for the region. We are thrilled to be contributing to this progression and look forward to an exciting journey with our new partners,” Mr Younes went on to say.
