Karen Terrell-Kramvis, Group General Manager for Sun International Sales and Contact Centre, has been with Sun International for nearly 20 years.
Karen holds an IMM qualification and is also a hotel school graduate having completed her Hotel School training at Sun City, after which she was appointed Assistant F&B Manager at Soho Hotel in 1997.
Karen joined Sun International Head Office in March 1999 in the Contact Centre and soon became a systems specialist, a position she held for four years though moved up the ranks of sales thereafter, when she moved into Sports and Promotions as a Sales Executive. Appointed as Sales Manager in 2006, promoted into the role of National Sales Manager: South Africa in 2012 and Group Manager: Sales in 2014 before her current role from 2015, Karen is passionate about her dynamic team and diverse global portfolio.
For women who want to join the fast-paced hospitality industry, Terrell-Kramvis says it is important for women to maintain their individuality. “Don’t lose the flavor of who you are to the corporate world or the culture, and if the morals and values of the company where you are employed don’t match your own, it is best to move to a company that matches yours so that you can give the best of yourself to the company.”
