Apollo Instrumentation Brings Smart Hospitality Technology to the CTICC

As the hospitality industry evolves toward greater efficiency, personalization, and automation, Apollo Instrumentation is emerging as a vital technology partner for venues across Southern Africa. The Johannesburg-based company, established in 2017, will showcase its cutting-edge ICT solutions at this year’s Hotel & Hospitality Expo Africa, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 11–12 June 2025.

Apollo’s exhibit will focus its flagship products: AuthenTIC'8™ and TRAC’8 - purpose-built systems designed to enhance both operational control and guest experience.

AuthenTIC'8™ is an integrated platform for managing digital access, transactions, and guest services. It allows for contactless access control, digital ticketing, locker management, and seamless cashless payments. Already in use at several of South Africa’s leading entertainment venues, the system enables operators to streamline entry flows, monitor visitor activity, and eliminate friction at key guest touchpoints.

AuthenTIC'8™ was built to give operators granular control without overwhelming the guest,” says Vinesh Harpal, CEO of Apollo Instrumentation. “It’s a modular solution, meaning you can scale from a single access gate to a multi-zone smart environment.”
Complementing this is TRAC’8, a standalone system focused on real-time asset tracking and inventory control. Designed for back-of-house efficiency, TRAC’8 gives hospitality teams visibility into where their assets are, how they’re used, and when they move. From catering equipment to event furniture and cleaning supplies, the platform provides instant updates and audit trails- helping teams minimise loss, optimise usage, and improve accountability.

“Many venues lose time and money simply by not knowing where things are” Harpal explains. “TRAC’8 solves that by turning physical assets into digital touchpoints.”

What sets Apollo apart is its local-first approach. Unlike many imported solutions, Apollo's systems are developed, supported, and maintained within South Africa. This allows for faster deployment, regional customisation, and real-time support when clients need it most.

Attendees at the Hotel & Hospitality Expo can expect a hands-on look at how Apollo’s platforms work together, or independently, to support various operational models. Whether you're running a boutique hotel, waterpark, conference centre, or resort, Apollo's technologies can be adapted to fit the size, complexity, and pace of your environment.

“We’re proud to be a South African tech company competing at the highest level” says Harpal. “We’re not just building systems- we’re helping venues future-proof their operations.”
